We hope it never happens, but if your pet is lost, you can use the Fi App paired with your pet's Fi Device and an active Fi Membership to track them down quickly.
We recommend testing Lost Mode to familiarise yourself with this functionality before you need it.
Please note: Without an active Fi Membership, Lost Mode is not available.
To Turn Lost Mode On or Off
1. With the Fi App open, tap into the Live Tab in the bottom-left corner of your screen:
2. Tap the Map Preview:
3. This will open a map showing your pet's last known location. Tap “Start Lost Mode”:
4. Live Tracking in Lost Mode immediately activates. Your pet’s GPS & LTE-M location updates in real time.
Be aware that the Cancel button does not appear during Live Tracking Activation unless the device has been in this state for at least 5 minutes.
You can turn on the light manually via the map. This helps visibility at night or in low-light situations.
It may take a few minutes to activate:

5. Once Lost Mode is activated, you can view your pet’s location via map, and you will receive push notifications:

6. Remain in Lost Mode until your pet is found. Exiting prematurely delays location updates, and you can start a Search Party to get help finding your pet.
8. When found, exit Lost Mode by tapping “End Lost Mode”:
9. Confirm your reason for ending:
- Tap Continue Lost Mode to resume tracking.
- Tap I found my dog/cat to turn off Lost Mode and let Fi know how it went.
- Tap I was just testing to return to the app and end Lost Mode.
10. Exit the map screen by tapping the arrow in the upper-left corner
