Walks Without Your Phone
You can use the Fi App on your Apple Watch to walk your pet without bringing your iPhone, but the features available depend on your watch's connectivity.
The Fi App on Apple Watch connects to your pet's Fi Device over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) when LTE Watch Mode is enabled. Your Apple Watch still needs an internet connection through your iPhone, Wi-Fi, or its own cellular plan to support certain features.
Here's what your Apple Watch can do on its own:
Apple Watch with Cellular:
You can activate Lost Mode directly from the watch, giving you real-time updates if your pet leaves a Safe Zone.
You can also enable LTE Watch Mode to take walks without your iPhone nearby. This requires an Apple Watch model that supports cellular and an active cellular plan on the watch. To start, swipe or tap to turn LTE Watch Mode on.
Once LTE Watch Mode is on, you can confirm it is enabled by the yellow watch icon in the top-right corner.
To turn off LTE Watch Mode, swipe Turn off on your profile page.
Apple Watch without Cellular:
Lost Mode and Walk Tracking will not be available when your iPhone is not nearby. The watch won't have the connectivity it needs to support these features.
