Setting up a Safe Zone is crucial to know your dog is in a safe space. You can set up unlimited Safe Zones. Some common examples include:
- Your home
- Second home
- Friend's and/or family member's home
- Pet Sitter's / Boarding Day Care
- Office
- Favorite Dog Park

Steps to Setup a Safe Zone
- Open the Fi App.
- Tap your dog's profile picture in the lower right corner. Once you are in the profile, tap the 3 stacked lines to open the Settings Menu:
- Tap Safe Zones:
- Tap the + button in the upper right corner:

Under Location Name, pick a unique name that describes the location, and then type the address into the search bar.

What Should I Name My Safe Zone?
- You can leave the name as a street address, or if you are familiar with the area, choose a name that is easy to remember. When you choose a name, it makes it easy to see your dog is at "Home" or "Grandma's House" rather than seeing a street address.

Name examples:
- Home (if your pup visits multiple homes, you'll want to be more descriptive here to avoid confusion as your dog goes from home to home)
- Vacation Home
- Beach Home
- Office
- Tom's Place
- Note: You may see an address auto-populate in the search bar, which is the approximate location you are at when creating the Safe Zone. You can delete this and put in another address if needed:

What Should I Name My Safe Zone?

Once you have chosen an address, you can create your Safe Zone shape.
- By default, you'll have a circle, but you can select a polygon by tapping the yellow square icon on the bottom right of the map view:
- You will want to ensure the safe zone shape correctly covers the area in the map you consider safe, even if this updates the address to appear incorrect.

Safe Zones have a minimum radius/area. They must have the minimum to account for GPS accuracy margin of error.

Polygon Safe Zones have a minimum area of 11,309 square feet and can be customized to fit your exact area:

- To alter the size of the Safe Zone, pinch two fingers to zoom in or out on the map or pull and drag the different points in the polygon Safe Zone to create a unique shape.
- By default, you'll have a circle, but you can select a polygon by tapping the yellow square icon on the bottom right of the map view:

Steps to Edit a Safe Zone Size
It is important that you set up your safe zone to cover more space around the area designated as “safe.” This will help avoid unnecessary notifications when your dog is near the edges of the Safe Zone.
To adjust the size of your Safe Zone:
- Open the Fi App.
- Tap your dog's profile picture in the lower right corner. Once you are in the profile, tap the 3 stacked lines to open the Settings Menu:
- Tap Safe Zones:
- Tap the Safe Zone you wish to edit.
- Once the Safe Zone opens, you can simply begin to edit the name, address, or size of the Safe Zone from this screen.
- To alter the size of the Safe Zone, pinch two fingers to zoom in or out on the map or pull and drag the different points in the polygon Safe Zone to create a unique shape.
