Steps to Choose the Right Size Fi Collar
Option 1
Measure your dog’s existing collar length by laying your dog’s existing, best fitting collar flat and measuring it in inches.
- Best fitting collars allow you to fit two fingers between your dog’s collar. See the “Two Fingers” Rule below.
- If you don’t have a measuring tape, try Google’s Measure - Quick Everyday Measurements app or the iOS Measure app.
Steps for how to use your dog's current collar to find their proper Series 3 Fi Collar size:
Option 2
Using a cloth tape measure (using inches), loosely measure around the normal location where your dog's collar would sit.
- If you don't have cloth measuring tape, you can use a piece of string or ribbon, then measure length of the cloth with a ruler or measuring tape after marking where the collar buckle should sit.
- To ensure the collar isn’t too tight, you’ll need to add one to three inches (depending upon your dog’s size) to this measurement to find the correct length collar.

Tips & Tricks
The “Two Fingers” Rule:
- Once your dog’s Fi Collar is fastened, you should easily be able to slide the width of your two fingers under the collar.
- When you slide the width of your two fingers between your dog's collar, the collar should feel snug, but not tight.
- You should not be able to slide your dog’s collar off their head. This could lead to your dog's head slipping through the collar.
