Having stable Fi Base connectivity is paramount to the accuracy of the Fi system and your Fi Collar battery life lasting as long as possible.
Each charging base broadcasts a signal that reaches up to a 150 meter radius in open areas and to further extend this coverage, you may consider purchasing an additional Fi Base.
Reasons to Set Up More than 1 Fi Base
1. Larger/Complex Properties: Fi Base coverage is dependent on Bluetooth range. The Fi Base must be able to "see" your dog's Fi Collar to connect to it, and they connect to one another via Bluetooth. Bluetooth range, independent of Fi, is impacted by "obstacles" it encounters (walls, metal, multiple levels, building materials, etc) and the electromagnetic environment (other Bluetooth devices in your home). Multiple Fi Bases can be used in a mesh system to extend coverage needs.

- Note: All Fi Bases must be indoors, have access to electricity, and Wi-Fi access. A Fi Base can be used to extend coverage in your backyard if there is a window overseeing your yard where the Fi Base can be set up indoors - but it cannot extend coverage to outdoor pastures that extend far beyond your home.
2. Frequent Travel: If your dog is frequently at another location (such as a friend or family members', pet sitters', office, etc.), we recommend setting up an additional Fi Base as these locations. This will help avoid having to transport your home Fi Base and having to reconfigure the Wi-Fi at each location.
Fi Bases for Multiple Pets
Each Fi Base will connect to any nearby Fi Collar for up to 3 dogs.
Any Fi Base, Series 2 or 3, can connect to any Fi Collar. For example, if your dog visits a friend who also has a Fi Base, but is not an owner of your dog - your dog's collar will connect to their Fi Base and benefit from the battery saving connection source.
