"Fi Collar cannot be located - GPS trying to acquire satellite signal." are also known as "Offline Alerts".
These notifications will alert you when we have been unable to communicate with the collar for a specified length of time. You can edit these settings from your Fi app, from the home screen:
Tap the menu icon on the top left
Tap into your pet's card
Tap Alert Settings
Offline Alerts can be set to trigger as quickly as 10 minutes and up to 60 minutes, or turned off. Our in app recommendation is 30 minutes.
If you are seeing this message and your pup is indoors, or you are with your pup- we know the collar is trying to connect to LTE-M/GPS when it should not be.
- If indoors, it is paramount the collar connects to the base. LTE-M/GPS is not reliable indoors, and will cause an unnecessary battery drain. See: How to improve your Fi Base Connectivity
- If you are with your pup, the collar should connect to the Fi app. See: How to improve Fi Mobile App Connectivity
If your dog is away from you, and not indoors, the Fi collar will continue to search for a LTE-M/GPS signal. Depending on what mode you are on, the collar will try every 1, 5, or 15 minutes.
