When a Fi Base is in range of your dog's Fi Collar, the Fi Base helps extend the battery life of their Fi Collar, ensures timely notifications and enhances performance. See: Fi Base: How It Works.
For this reason, it is important that:
- Your Fi Base remains plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi at all times.
- Your Series 3 Fi Base has an indicator light. It will show a static yellow light if the base has no Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Your base is properly set up in a central location in your home. See: Where Should I Set Up My Fi Base?

Fi Base Offline 🔴❗️
If your Fi Base goes offline, you'll receive a push notification, email, and you will see a red dot next to your dog's profile. There will also be a red exclamation next to Bases in your Fi App menu.
When you tap into your bases, you will also see a red circle with an exclamation mark❗️identifying which base is offline if you have multiple bases:

Steps to Resolve
- Check Your Wi-Fi Network
- Your Series 3 Fi Base has an indicator light. It will show a static yellow light if the base has no Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Is your Wi-Fi network online and working? The Fi Base requires access to a Wi-Fi network to report your dog’s location. Make sure that other devices in your home can connect to your Wi-Fi network. If not, restart your Wi-Fi router or modem.

- Make Sure Your Fi Base Is Plugged In
- The Fi Base needs to remain plugged in to stay online. To ensure the Fi base is getting power, place your dog’s Fi Collar on the base, it should light up. If not, try unplugging and replugging the Fi Base in a different outlet. If the Fi Collar’s light still does not turn on while on your base, please Contact Fi Customer Success.
- Note: Fi Series 3 only. If the base is plugged in, when you place your dog's Fi Collar on the base, you will see your dog's Fi Collar light up as stated above, and on the Fi Series 3 base, the light on the base will also turn blue. The blue light on the base indicates your collar is docked and online.
- The Fi Base needs to remain plugged in to stay online. To ensure the Fi base is getting power, place your dog’s Fi Collar on the base, it should light up. If not, try unplugging and replugging the Fi Base in a different outlet. If the Fi Collar’s light still does not turn on while on your base, please Contact Fi Customer Success.
