Getting Started: How It Works, Setup, and Connectivity will provide step by step instructions to activate your Fi collar for the first time.
Deactivating a Fi collar
- Ensure you can login to the Fi app. Only owners can deactivate a Fi Collar.
- Open the Fi app
- Tap your pup's profile on bottom right hand corner
- Tap the three stacked lines on the top right
- Tap Collars
- Tap the collar you need to deactivate
- Tap Deactivate
- Confirm deactivation, by tapping Yes
- Multi-pup household? You'll need to repeat these steps for each collar that is being deactivated

Make an error? No worries- all of your pup's historical details have been preserved- simply follow instructions to activate below.
Activating a replacement Fi collar
How to activate a Fi collar for a pup who previously had a Fi collar. To add a new pup to pack see: Adding multiple dogs to the Fi App
Single Pup Household / No Active Modules on Account
Activation instructions for single pup households, or multi pup households, where all modules are being activated.
- Ensure you've deactivated the previous Fi module, two Fi collars cannot be active at one time for one pet. If this is already done, proceed to step two.
- Open the Fi app
- Tap Continue (iOS) or Add a collar (Android)
- Follow in app instructions to complete set up
- Ensure your Fi GPS/LTE Subscription has transferred over- this should happen automatically, although if you login with an account that is different than the one used for the initial purchase you may need additional assistance. If the subscription does not auto assign, you'll see a yellow banner prompting you to activate a GPS subscription- if you already have one, please email support@tryfi.com for further assistance.
- For multi pup households- once one module is active, proceed to follow multi-pup household instructions below
Multi-Pup Household
Activation instructions for multi pup households, where activation is only happening for select pups in your household.
- Ensure you've deactivated the previous Fi module, two Fi collars cannot be active at one time for one pet. If this is already done, proceed to step two.
- Open the Fi app
- Tap your pup's profile on bottom right hand corner
- Tap your pup's name on the top bar to reveal all pups in your household
- Tap the pup you need to activate a Fi Collar for
- Tap Add Collar
- Follow in app instructions to complete set up
- Ensure your Fi GPS/LTE Subscription has transferred over- this should happen automatically, although if you login with an account that is different than the one used for the initial purchase you may need additional assistance. If the subscription does not auto assign, you'll see a yellow banner prompting you to activate a GPS subscription- if you already have one, please email support@tryfi.com for further assistance.
