If a lost dog has a Fi Nano or a microchip registered with the Fi Nano Microchip Registry, anyone who finds the dog and scans the chip can contact the owner through Fi’s secure messaging platform. No personal information is shared directly. To use the secure messaging system, you do not need a Fi Account.
When using the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool, all microchips registered with Fi will display a direct link to our website for easy access.
How to Message the Registered Owner
1. Go to nano.tryfi.com. Type in the microchip number and click SEARCH:
If the dog is registered, both the owner’s and the vet/rescue/breeder’s information (if applicable) will be displayed.
In the Owner section of the registry page, you’ll see the dog’s name, date of birth, age, weight, and microchip number - along with the owner’s first name and initial, and their city.
The Vet/Rescue/Breeder section shows the organization’s name, email, phone number, and street address. You’re welcome to contact the organization directly if that’s helpful.
Our Support phone number and hours are at the bottom of the page.
2. You can contact both the registered owner AND the registered vet/rescue/breeder using our secure messaging system.
Click SEND MESSAGE if you would like to contact the registered owner:
Click CONTACT VET/RESCUE/BREEDER if you would like to contact the registered vet/rescue/breeder:
3. On the form that pops up, fill out your email, your name, phone number (optional), and a message about where the pet was found with the microchip number. Check the box and click Send Message:
Keep an eye on your email for a response from the owner or the listed organization.
