Registering your Fi Nano microchip is completely free for pet owners. There are no fees, now or ever. You can easily keep your pet’s information up to date through the Fi App, ensuring their details are always current and accessible.
If a pet with a Fi Nano is found and scanned, Fi provides a secure messaging system to contact the owner without sharing personal information directly.
What is a Microchip?
Microchips are tiny transponders, about the size of a grain of rice, that can be safely implanted by veterinarians, rescues, and breeders. When a lost pet is found, one of the very first steps is to scan for a microchip to help identify them and reconnect them with their family.
Traditional microchips are often expensive and unreliable. Only about 5% of dogs in the United States are microchipped today - and many implanted chips are never registered due to hidden fees and outdated systems. Fi is on a mission to change that.
Where can I get a Fi Nano microchip?
Fi Nano is currently available only in the United States. To get one for your pet, contact your veterinarian and ask them to apply to be a Fi Nano partner here.
For safety, Fi Nano microchips are not sold directly to pet owners and must be implanted by a trained professional, such as a veterinarian.
What if my pet already has a microchip?
If your pet already has a non-Fi Nano microchip, you can still register it with Fi here.
Fi Nano microchips are ISO certified, internationally compatible with standard scanners, and free to register and update for life from any smartphone or computer.
Please note: If your cat or dog already has a microchip, you will not need a Fi Nano microchip for them. Cats or dogs should not have more than one microchip. If your pet already has a microchip, you should not have them microchipped again with a Fi Nano.
