The Fi Collar will report its location dependent on different connection sources. To check how the Fi Collar is obtaining its location reports, you can check the connection source.

Steps to Check What My Dog’s Fi Collar Is Connected To
- Open the Fi App.
- Tap Live and then tap your dog's profile picture:
- Tap on your dog's picture shown on the map:
- This will reveal a status card, with different icons on the bottom right of the card. Each icon represents a different connection source.
Fi Base: your pup is connected to the Fi Base:
Blue circle with your initial: your pup is connected to your mobile device:
- White circle with a blue outline and an initial: your dog is connected to the mobile device of another owner.
Wi-Fi: your pup is connected to a Wi-Fi network:
Cell phone bars: your pup is connected to GPS/LTE:
- Exit the full map screen by tapping the back button on the bottom left:
