The Fi device is safe, and it is Fi's #1 priority to keep your pet safe and healthy. Although the FCC only regulates radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic fields for humans, Fi complies with those same limits, and Fi has been certified.
Fi's Safety Guidelines
- The Federal Communications Commission defines and enforces standards for the safety of radio-emitting devices.
- The Fi Device is within the same standard of RF exposure limits as any other product that produces electromagnetic energy, such as mobile phones.
-
For mobile-enabled devices, the FCC defines that 4W/kg of radio emission for a 30-minute mobile phone call placed next to the head of a human is safe.
- The Fi Device passed the FCC requirement with an emission of 0.3W/kg in the highest case. As a reference, the iPhone emits 1.6W/kg within a 30-minute mobile phone call.
-
Fi uses LTE CAT M1 technology. The Fi Device only connects to the mobile network when it needs to send data, which is very sporadic.
- All other 3G trackers on the market must connect to the 3G network and stay connected at all times. Therefore, the Fi Device is substantially safer than any other device out there.
- Not only did we certify the Fi hardware through the FCC radiation commission, we also made sure that in its normal operating mode, the Fi Device emits only 1/100th of the energy of a mobile phone.
