If you receive an alert indicating that your pet has left their safe zone, but they’re still within the defined boundary, adjusting the safe zone may help resolve the issue. Here’s how to troubleshoot depending on the type of alert.
Without Owner Exit Alert
If you receive an inaccurate escape alert and no owner is listed in the notification, such as "Izzy just left home", this can indicate:
- The Fi Device's GPS chips were activated.
- The Fi Device received two GPS reports indicating your pet was outside a Safe Zone.
To fix these reports, we recommend optimising the source your Fi Device is connected to. You can learn more about Fi's different connection sources here.
With Owner Exit Alert
If you receive an inaccurate escape alert and an owner is listed in the notification, such as "Izzy just left home with Eric", this can indicate:
- The owner's mobile device is connected to your pet's Fi Device via Bluetooth. This connection is being used to report your pet's location.
- The owner's mobile device provided two inaccurate location reports indicating your pet was outside a Safe Zone.
In this situation, we also recommend optimising the source your Fi Device is connected to. You can learn about different Fi Device connection sources here.
