If your pet spends time with a walker, sitter, or caretaker, you can grant limited access to your pet's Fi Account by assigning view-only or restricted privileges within the Fi App. This will allow your pet's Fi Device to pair with their mobile device, which will:
- Provide more accurate push notifications
- Provide more accurate location reports
- Allow them to use Lost Mode
- Preserve the battery life of your Fi Device
Please note that a dog walker should have the Fi App running in the background for a walk to record.
For members of your household or additional pet parents, we recommend granting them full access instead.
View Only and Restricted Differences
The difference between View only and Restricted permissions is the visibility they have in the Fi App.
For example, a View-only member can view your pet’s location on the Live Tab map, while those with Restricted access cannot.
Additionally, those with Restricted access will only see the Live Tab when the Fi Device has recently paired with their Fi App. Otherwise, they will receive a notification that they do not have permission to see their location.
View Only and Restricted Member Access in the App
Both View only and Restricted members have access to the following sections in the Fi App:
-
- The Rank Tab
- The Community Tab with the ability to like or comment on photos.
- The Profile Tab, with the ability to view, upload, and share photos. Additionally, they can link their Instagram account to the profile. Please note that only a full access can unlink an Instagram profile.
-
The Pack Settings Menu with the ability to:
- Add and edit Wi-Fi Networks. However, they cannot delete Wi-Fi Networks listed.
- View nearby Dog Parks.
- Update their personal Account.
-
The Ask for Help section with the option to contact Fi Support or view the Support website.
