Paired with a Fi collar, the Fi app brings you even closer to your dog. View your dogs location and activity levels on the app, and be alerted if they ever escape from a designated safe area. This guide will walk you through functionality and in app settings.
Live: view your pups and their activity over time
The first thing you'll see is the live card- providing details on your pups location, and battery %
You can tap the arrow on the top right to reveal the map menu. Here you'll see (top to bottom)
- Current/ most recent known Location
- Lost Dog Mode button, on the top right
- Map, pinch and pull with two fingers to zoom in and out, swipe up, down, left and right to navigate
- If navigate away from the center of the map, or zoom in / out you'll see a small target icon on bottom right that you can tap to return to the standard map view
- Your Pet's profile photo, tap this to reveal:
- Pup's name
- Battery %
- Connection state:
- Fi Base: your pup is connected to the Fi base (1 minute to turn on light)
- Blue circle with your initial: your pup is connected to your mobile device (the light will turn on immediately)
- Circle with a blue outline, and other letter within: your pup is connected to the mobile device of another owner (the light will turn on immediately)
- Cell phone bars: your pup is connected to LTE (the light will turn on the next time we connect to the collar)
- Fi Collar Light Beam
- Map button: you can use this to toggle the map setting above, dark mode, light mode or satellite
- Exit the full map screen by tapping the back button on the bottom left
This will give you a scrollable list that details all of your pups' daily activity, walks, hot streaks, and rank updates. You can toggle between different pups by tapping their profile picture on the top of the feed.
You can tap into walk activities, and you'll see a paper plane button on the bottom right that will allow you to share your walks on Instagram, Facebook and with contacts on your phone.
Within the activity card you'll see a few different icons:
- Pin point: current location
- Paw print: indicates a walk, this will include the name of the neighborhood or area, step count, length of time, and miles walked. You will see "you" or the name of any owner with whom the walk was taken with, and the collar connected to.
- Sitting dog: This indicates time your dog was in a location, we'll note the address or name, length of time spent, and steps taken.
- Tennis ball: This indicates a play activity
Activity: view your pup's current activity
In the Activity menu you'll see (top to bottom)
- Steps for today & Miles walked for the current day. Please note miles are only calculated on walks, not as a total of steps taken, in order for your dog to have any miles displayed, they need to have gone on a walk, away from the safe zone.
- Tap to reveal progress towards weekly goal, and toggle between days and months
- Tap inside of the progress bar to toggle between steps and miles accumulated
- Daily Goal
- % to daily goal
- Option to change the step goal
- The cumulative steps/miles for the past 7 days
- This includes a graph showing the progress throughout the week with daily breakdowns
- Hot Streaks status. The current day streak + your longest streak with activity.
- A scrollable calendar that details your pup's activity streaks.

Rank: view your pup's breed and overall Fi Rank
Within ranks, you can toggle by "top" and "my rank".
- All Rankings are based on 28 days of activity, as such you might notice your pup move up or down in ranking
- Breed rankings are only available when there are enough pups in the breed category
Profile: view your pup's profile, and additional settings
View details for each of your pups. You can toggle between profiles by tapping the currently displayed pup's name on the top menu bar, or by tapping and holding down Profile on the bottom left.
In the Profile menu you'll see (top to bottom)
- Pup's name, tap this to reveal all pups associated to your household
- Ability to add a pup (top left +)
- Settings menu (three stacked lines), tap this to reveal:
- Collars: pup name and serial number associated with each pup in your pack, tap into a specific pup to reveal:
- All Owners and Dog Walkers with access to the account (see: Adding/Removing Multiple Owners, Adding/Removing Dog Walkers)
- Alert Settings (see: Alert Settings & Notifications)
- Update the Fi Collar Light selection
- Safe Zones: Tap into safe zones to add, remove or adjust a safe zone. You can add unlimited safe zones. These are areas that your dog is safe within, and you do not need to receive alerts of their activity within. Please keep in mind, when adding safe zones that are located indoors, it is essential to have a way for the collar to communicate it's location. This can be accomplished with an additional base, or simply having someone at the location with the Fi app running installed, and set as an owner. Additionally, see: Safe Zones + Escape Alerts
- WiFi Networks: Tap into WiFi Networks to add, remove or adjust a WiFi Networks. You can have up to 6 networks activate at a time. * This is only available for Fi Series 2 customers.
- Bases: Tap into Bases to see a list of all your bases, and manage their settings. Each base will have a unique serial number listed, and you can change their name to reflect their location, such as "home", "office", each base must have a location set, as when the collar is connected to the base, it will report the location set within here. You can update this by "set location" within the base page. If your base is ever offline, you will receive a red exclamation point, both on the menu button from the home screen of the app, and on the base menu. - Owners: See: Adding/Removing Multiple Owners.
- Account Settings: Tap into Account Settings to update your name, email address, phone number. Toggle Fi News Notifications On/Off.
- Share Fi: Get Rewards, this will link you to your unique invite code, see: Fi Referral Program: Refer a pup, earn rewards.
- System Diagnostics: Tap here to test your Fi system health, from the results page of diagnostic mode, scroll towards the bottom to test GPS & LTE connectivity in your area. To do this, you must be outdoors, and the collar must be connected to your mobile device (you should be with your dog.) See: Testing GPS + LTE & Lost Dog Mode.

- Collars: pup name and serial number associated with each pup in your pack, tap into a specific pup to reveal:
- Pet Card Menu, here you'll see
- Your pup's details: Breed, Weight, and Age.
- Your pup's instagram handle if linked, or ability to link
- Edit Profile: Update your pup's name, gender, breed, weight, age, or disconnect their Instagram handle
- Ability to Delete Pet (please note this action cannot be undone.)
- Your pet's pictures: you can add more or delete previously selected photos here.
- You can select a photo for your pup from your phone's camera, gallery, or Instagram
- Please note: selecting instagram will also link your instagram account to your Fi profile, and your handle will be visible in rankings to other Fi users.
