The in-app experience for Ultra is distinct from our previous Fi Mini and Series offerings. With an updated interface and new device settings, the Fi Ultra introduces an enhanced experience while continuing to support core features such as activity tracking and monitoring.
Using Your Ultra with Another Fi Tracker
Power Control
Pressing the power button on the Live Tab places your Fi Ultra into power-saving mode. While in power-saving mode, it is normal to see the battery percentage continue to drop. This happens at a reduced rate, and your Fi Ultra can last up to 5 days in power-saving mode.
You can also use the physical button on your Fi Ultra to power the tracker on or off. Hold the button for 2 seconds.
When your Fi Ultra is in power saving mode, the in-app view will appear dimmed. Pressing the power button again returns the app to its standard appearance, with your Safe Zone shown in its active state.
Live Tab
On the Live Tab, you'll view the live map, with the options to play a sound or produce a vibration on the Ultra tracker.
If you have a Fi Mini or Series 3+, you will see the battery life information on this same screen as well.
If you have a Fi Mini, Series 3+, or Series 3 paired with your Fi Ultra, you'll have access to your pet's daily step count and Timeline through your other tracker. However, please note that if you do not have a Fi Mini, Series 3+, or Series 3 paired, you will not have these behavior or activity insights.
Connectivity
In your Live Map, along with accessing the sound and vibration haptics, you can also view if your Fi Ultra is connected via Satellite, GPS, or cellular.
Satellite Connection
When your Fi Ultra is connected via satellite, you'll see a satellite icon on the map in place of the standard online indicator. This typically happens in remote areas without standard cell coverage. Your tracker is still online and reporting its location.
Fi App Menu Bar
The Fi app menu bar for Fi Ultra members is different from the menu bar for Fi Mini and Series members. Some tabs and features available on those trackers are not included in the Fi Ultra interface.
The following are not available on the Fi Ultra:
- Rest tracking
- Strain tracking
- Rankings
- Health features
- AI features
- Step tracking
- Sleep tracking
If you also have a Fi Mini, Series 3+, or Series 3 on your pet, you'll continue to see the Rank and Health tabs in your menu bar, with full access to those features through your other Fi tracker.
Using Your Ultra with Another Fi Tracker
If you have a Fi Ultra paired with a Fi Mini, Series 3+, or Series 3 on the same pet, you'll see both trackers on the same page in the Fi App. This combined view only appears when both trackers are on the same pet.
While both trackers are on your pet and online, your Fi Ultra is the primary source for your pet's location. If your Fi Ultra has connectivity issues, your other Fi tracker continues providing location updates as a fallback, so you always know where your pet is.
If your Fi Ultra is removed from your pet (for example, when it's charging), you'll see it appear as a separate pin on the map, while your pet's location continues to be shown by your other tracker. When your Fi Ultra is off your pet, escape alerts for the Ultra are silenced, so you won't be notified while it's sitting in one place.
Only one Fi membership is needed to cover both trackers.
