Fi Nano microchip registrations require partner approval when a pet owner submits or updates their information. Partners can review and manage these requests through the Fi Nano website or from email notifications. Additionally, rejected registrations may require follow-up with the original registering partner or a previous owner to confirm ownership details.
Please note: Rescues no longer have to approve transfer requests. They are done automatically.

How to Approve or Reject an Owner's Microchip Registration
If you register a microchip on behalf of the owner, it will automatically update the chip to the active status. If you do not register a microchip for the owner, there are two ways for a partner to approve an owner's microchip registration request.
- Logging into your partner account on nano.tryfi.com
-
From the email we send when an owner submits a registration request
- The email we send has the subject line "A Fi Nano registration needs your approval!"
How to Approve or Reject from the Fi Nano Website
- Visit nano.tryfi.com and log in to your partner account.
-
You'll be directed to the Stock view under Manage Chips, click Review under Your chips to see all pending registrations.
-
Under Review, you'll see all of your pending registration requests. Click the chip number to see the pending registration details.
-
After verifying the pet and owner information, click Accept Transfer or Reject Transfer at the bottom of the screen.
- If you click Accept Transfer, the chip will now be in the Active section of your chips.
- If you click Reject Transfer, the chip will be returned to your Stock chips.
How to Approve or Reject Via Email
- After a pet owner submits a registration request, we'll send you an email with the subject line "A Fi Nano Registration needs your approval!"
-
Click into the email, and you'll see the option to Reject or Accept the registration request.
- If you'd like to verify the chip and owner information before accepting the registration, click your dashboard - this will take you to the Fi Nano website, where you can see full chip and registration request details
-
When you click Accept Update in the email, the owner registration request is accepted, and the chip is now registered to them. You'll be taken to a screen with a message confirming the transfer is accepted. If you accept a registration request, the chip will be moved to your active chips.
-
When you click Reject Update in the email, the owner registration request is rejected, and we inform the owner of this. You'll be taken to a screen confirming that the transfer is rejected. If you reject a registration request, the chip will return to your stock chips.
How to Resolve Fi Nano Registration Rejections
When you receive an email stating Your requested Fi Nano Update was unsuccessful, this means the current owner of the chip has rejected the request.
- If you are the pet's first owner, your registration was rejected by the Fi Nano partner who microchipped your pet.
- If the pet had a previous owner who registered the chip, your registration was rejected because the previous owner had already registered it.
To determine the reason for your registration request being rejected, please contact the individual who denied it.
