Verified Rescue Organizations have self-service options in the Fi Nano portal that enable you to manage your microchips without needing our team to help!
Please note: Only verified partners can order Fi Nano microchips on our website, and they are shipped pre-registered to your organization. You do not need to register them with your organization on our website due to this. Once a pet is adopted, the chip can be dual registered to your organization and the owner.
Additionally, Rescues are unable to edit pet and owner information once a chip is registered to a pet owner. If a pet is returned to the rescue, you can clear the information by using the recall chip function.
If you are not a Verified Rescue Organization within the Fi system, you can become verified by reaching out to Fi Support at rescuesupport@tryfi.com. In your email, ensure to provide your organization's name and your 501(c)(3) nonprofit number if applicable.
How to Recall a Fi Nano Microchip
Follow the steps below to recall/clear a Fi Nano microchip as a verified rescue organization:
- Go to nano.tryfi.com and log in to your account
- Click Registered
- Enter the chip number into the search bar
- Click on the chip
- Click Recall Chip in the upper right corner
After the last step, the chip will be cleared of the original pet owner's information. This will allow you or the new owner to register the new information.
How to transfer a chip between organizations
Follow the steps below to transfer a Fi Nano microchip as a verified rescue organization to another organization:
- Go to nano.tryfi.com and log in to your account
- Enter the chip number into the search bar
- Click on the "Reassign Chip" button
- Confirm if you'd like to keep or clear existing owner information
- Once confirmed, the chip will now be added to your organization's management experience
After the last step, the chip will be cleared of the original pet owner's information. This will allow you or the new owner to register the new information.
How to add your organization to any microchip
Follow the steps below to associate any Non-Fi Nano microchip as a verified rescue organization:
- Log in to your Fi Nano account and enter the chip number into the search bar
- When the prompt appears, choose Register (or check other registries first, if needed)
- After clicking Register, the chip will be available to register on your "Stock" list
How to View Full Contact Information for a Pet Owner
To look up contact information for a pet's owner, either because you received a message about a pet registered to your account being found or because a pet with a Fi Nano chip was scanned at your rescue, follow these steps:
- Go to nano.tryfi.com and log in to your account.

Enter the pet's microchip number in the "Look up microchip scan codes" search field:
- You'll be able to view the owner's full contact information and use the information provided to contact the owner directly.
