What Access Does My Dog Walker Have?

If your dog spends time with a dog walker, dog sitter, or caretaker, you can grant limited access to your dog's Fi Account by assigning Walker privileges within the Fi App. This will allow your dog's Fi Collar to pair to their mobile device, which will:

1. Provide more accurate walk notifications (i.e. Dog is on walk with DOGWALKER instead of Dog is at XYZ address without an owner)
2. Provide more accurate location reports.
3. Preserve battery.

Full Access and Limited Access

There are two permission levels for Walker access: Full Access and Limited Access.

Fi automatically sets the default access as Limited Access for Walkers, but you can edit this permission to Full Access if you want your Walker to have more control and visibility over your Fi App. See: How Do I Edit Owners, Walkers (Full Access), and Walkers (Limited Access)?

What Will the Walker See With Full Access vs. Limited Access?

The only difference between Walker (Full Access) and Walker (Limited Access) is that by giving a walker full access, they can view the map in the Live Tab.

• • Live Tab
    • If a Walker is given Full Access, they will have map access.
      • Example: If the Walker has Full Access, a Walker sees the following for the Live Map:
        
    • If a Walker is given Limited Access, they will only see the Live Tab when the Fi Collar is paired with the Fi App.
      • Example: If the Walker has Limited Access AND the Fi Collar is not paired to the Walker's phone, a Walker sees the following for the Live Map:
        

• Both Walker (Full Access) and Walker (Limited Access) can view and access the following: 
  
  • Rank Tab
    • They can see your dog's rank.
  • Community Tab
    • Like ♡ any dog's photo.
    • Comment on any dog's photo.
  • Profile Tab - Partial Access 
    • Your pet's profile, including the pictures posted.
      • They can upload pictures from their phone of your dog to be shared on your profile.
      • They can link their Instagram account to your profile, but an owner is the only person who can unlink their Instagram.
  • Settings Menu
    • From the pet Profile, they can access the Menu (by tapping the three stacked lines on the top right) and will have access to:
      • Share Fi
        • What is Fi's Referral Program?
      • Collars (limited functionality) 
        • They can see Collars on the Settings Menu, but they do not have access to your dog's Fi Collar.
      • Wi-Fi Networks (limited functionality, can add/edit, but not delete)

      • Veterinarian

        • Walkers can only edit notifications for their phone.

        • Walkers will only see and be able to update their user details.
