The Fi App makes it easy to manage your rescue's Fi Devices. From the Manage Rescues section, you can transfer pets to foster parents, recall them when they return, and keep track of which pets are currently placed. Both you and your fosters will have access to real-time tracking for transferred pets, so everyone stays connected.
You can also use the Rescue Portal to manage all of your pets and devices.

Managing The Pets In Your Rescue's Care
You can view and manage the pets in your rescue through the pet switcher. The pet switcher can be accessed from the Live Tab by tapping the pet's name at the top of your screen or a Pet Profile by tapping the pet's name in the top left corner.
From here, you'll be able to see all of the pet profiles your Rescue has access to.
Pets are alphabetized to make it easier to find the one you're looking for and you can search by pet name in the search bar to pull up a specific pet.
If you want to see a group of devices, you can also filter by the pet's current state. The pet states are:
- My Pets: This state means the rescue has tracking access for these devices, but they are not for pets in the rescue's care.
- In Rescue: This state means this pet and device can be transferred to a foster or an adopter
- In Foster - This state means this pet and device are currently with a foster parent and can be recalled.
You can make changes by clicking the gear icon on the upper right corner, which will take you to the pet's device details page, where you can transfer to a foster, recall from a foster, transfer to an adopter, and more.
What's Needed to Transfer to a Foster Parent
- Confirm the foster parent has a smartphone that's compatible with the Fi App

The email the foster wants to use for their Fi Account
- If they already have a pet with a Fi Device, make sure their existing account email is used for the transfer.
- Access to the Fi App logged into your Fi Rescue Account
How To Transfer a Device to a Foster
To start the foster transfer process, you'll need to go to the pet's device details page. There are two ways to access this:

By using the Pet Switcher (Recommended) - Tap the pet's name at the top of the screen, which will open a list of all your Fi Pets. You can use the search bar to find the specific pet being transferred and then tap the gear icon to the right of the pet's name.
- By going to your Pack Setting page - To get to Pack Settings, tap your pet's profile picture in the lower right corner of the Fi App. Once you are in the profile of the pet being adopted, tap the 3 stacked lines to open the Pack Settings Menu - Tap Your Pack then tap the pet you want to start the adoption process for.
Once you are on the pet's profile page, follow the steps below.

Scroll to the bottom of their pet profile and tap Transfer to Foster.

Enter the foster's name, email address, and phone number. Once complete, tap Continue.

On this screen, you'll be asked to confirm the foster transfer. Tap Confirm to proceed or tap Never mind to go back.

Once you tap Confirm, the transfer will be initiated, and an SMS will be sent to the foster parent.
- If there is not an account already linked to that phone number, the transfer will be pending until they create one.
- If there is already an account linked to that phone number, they'll be able to track the foster pet immediately.
The pet's location will now show in the Fi App for both the foster and the Rescue; the Rescue will still have tracking access for the pet. This grants tracking access to the foster only for the specific pet(s) you have transferred to them.
When the foster picks up the pet, you'll want to ensure they have at least one Fi Base if they have a Series device, since they will need it for charging. If they have a Fi Mini, it can be charged with a USB-C cord and cannot be charged on a Fi Base.

How to Recall A Fi Device from a Foster Parent
When a foster pet returns to your rescue, moves to a new placement, or is being adopted, you'll need to recall them in the Fi App. This removes the pet from the foster's tracking access and returns the pet to your rescue.
You will use the recall feature when:
- A foster pet is returning to your rescue
- A pet is moving from one foster home to another
Additionally, when you recall a pet:
- The foster loses access to the pet's profile and tracking
- The pet returns to your rescue's Pack
- You can transfer the pet to a new foster
To start the foster recall process, you'll need to go to the pet's device details page. There are two ways to access this:

Scroll to the bottom of their page and tap Recall from Foster.
- Tap Confirm to complete the recall. This will move them back into the rescue's pack and remove the foster's access.
Verifying Which Account You're Using
If you don't see these features mentioned in the Fi App, you may not be logged into the correct account. Please verify you're logged in with the email you used to apply for the program before contacting our team.
