A Fi Membership is required to enable Fi Series 3 Collars. A subscription is optional and recommended for Fi Series 2 Collars, allowing Fi remote access to your dog's location and activity through GPS/LTE connection.

A Fi Series 3 Membership includes everything you need:

The cost of your membership enables all features of your dog’s Fi Collar.

Series 2
For Fi Series 2 Collars, without a subscription, the Fi Collar will still function, but if your dog wanders outside the range of your smartphone, Fi Base or Wi-Fi, you will not be able to see your dog's location and will not be able to use Lost Dog Mode.
