Your Fi Device's connection to the Fi App enables precise tracking, activity insights, and health monitoring. Consistent connection ensures accurate data reporting and helps conserve battery life.
To maintain a continuous connection, your Fi Device may connect to your phone:
| Outdoors | During walks or playtime outside. The Fi Device connects to your phone via Bluetooth or LTE-M, as long as the Fi App is open and running in the background. |
| Indoors | Your phone maintains a connection to the device as long as the Fi App is open and running in the background. If you have a Fi Base, your Fi Device will connect to it via Bluetooth. |
Troubleshooting Fi App Connectivity Issues
If your phone is not connecting to your Fi Device as expected, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Restart Your Phone
A quick restart often resolves most connectivity problems.
2. Keep the Fi App Active
Ensure the Fi App is open and running in the background. If it is closed or force-quit, the device cannot maintain a connection.
3. Stay Close to your Fi Device
For the most accurate connection during walks, keep your pet on a leash so your Fi Device remains within a few feet of your phone.
4. Test Bluetooth Functionality
Confirm that other Bluetooth devices can connect to your phone. If other Bluetooth devices do not work, consider reaching out to your phone manufacturer for support.
5. Check Other Owners’ Devices
If other owners of the same Fi Profile are not experiencing the same problem, the issue may be specific to your phone.
