The Fi Collar's connection to the Fi App enables precise tracking, activity insights, and health monitoring. Consistent connection ensures accurate data reporting and helps conserve the collar's battery life.
To maintain continuous connection, your Fi Collar may connect to your mobile device:
Outdoors | During walks or playtime outside. The collar connects to your phone via Bluetooth or LTE-M, provided the Fi App is open and running in the background. |
Indoors | Away from a Fi Base. Your mobile device maintains connection to the collar as long as the Fi App is open and running in the background. |
Troubleshooting Fi App Connectivity Issues
If your smartphone is not connecting to your dog's Fi Collar as expected, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Restart Your Smartphone
A quick restart often resolves most connectivity problems.
2. Keep the Fi App Active
Ensure the Fi App is open and running in the background. If it is closed or force-quit, the collar cannot maintain a connection.
3. Stay Close to the Collar
For the most accurate connection during walks, keep your dog on a leash so the collar remains within a few feet of your phone.
4. Test Bluetooth Functionality
Confirm that other Bluetooth devices can connect to your phone. If no Bluetooth devices work, consider reaching out to your phone manufacturer for support.
5. Check Other Owners’ Devices
If other owners of the same Fi Profile are not experiencing issues, the problem may be specific to your device.
